Clinic Medical Director: Julie Gilbert, MD, Obesity Medicine Specialist

Dr. Julie Gilbert received her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas in 1991 and completed a residency program in Family Practice in Edgewood, Kentucky in 1994. She moved to the Salem area in 1995 where she has enjoyed a busy practice in Family Medicine at WVP-Keizer for over 20 years. Because of her passion for primary prevention, in 2014 she became Board Certified in Obesity Medicine. She has assembled a team of dedicated professionals to come along side and assist patients in pursuing their weight and health goals.


Ginger Denney FNP

Ms. Ginger Denney, APRN, FNP-C joined WVP Weight Management Clinic in summer 2018 and treats patients of all ages. Ms. Denney enjoys hiking and gardening, and spending time with her pets, including a hedgehog and miniature fainting goat. She also likes to visit family in Illinois.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker: Stephanie Husk, LCSW

Stephanie Husk holds a Masters Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She is certified as a Clinical Social Worker and has been a mental health and behavioral specialist for the past 24 years.

Stephanie helps people reach their health goals with compassion and respect.  She understands that health issues are complex and that a holistic approach is necessary for success.  She works from a bio/psycho/social/spiritual framework and encourages patients toward a strength-based approach to life.

Stephanie maintains her license through continuing education, taking classes dealing with subjects relevant to the health care profession.

Nurse Practitioner: Rick Meyers, NP

Rick Meyers holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine. He has worked in Home Health Care, Hospice Care, and Pain Management in his 23 years of being a nurse. He worked with a four-physician practice to establish the Mid-Valley Pain Clinic multidisciplinary pain management program, and is excited to expand and share his knowledge at the Medical Weight Management Clinic.

Registered Dietician: Lisa Hublitz, RD

Lisa Hublitz holds a degree in dietetics from Idaho State University. She recognizes that maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be challenging, and her education and experience has equipped her to help people in all walks of life. Lisa’s background in acute care and clinical settings has provided her the most current nutrition practices and has ingrained the importance of promoting wellness with preventive care. Facilitating mutually agreed upon goals is the key to success, and her goal is to inspire nutrition awareness and encourage practical steps to a healthier lifestyle.

Registered Dietitian Consultant:

The Registered Dietitian provides the nutrition and food expertise required to assist you in designing a personalized meal plan for weight loss. The dietitian takes into consideration the many aspects of food: preferences, cooking styles and culture to create a nutrition plan you can not only live with, but truly enjoy.

Physical Therapy Consultant:

For some of us it has been a while since we engaged in strenuous exercise. Others have pain issues that create barriers for increased activity. The physical therapist will help get you moving in a graduated way to decrease risk of injury, increase your non-exercise activity and add energy back to your life.
